Human Foot Reconstruction from Multiple Camera Images with Foot Shape Database

چکیده
Recently, researches and developments for measuring and modeling of the human body have been receiving much attention. Our aim is to reconstruct an accurate shape of a human foot from multiple camera images, which can capture dynamic behavior of the object. In this paper, a foot-shape database is used for accurate reconstruction of human foot. By using Principal Component Analysis, the foot shape can be represented with new meaningful variables. The dimensionality of the data is also reduced. Thus, the shape of object can be recovered efficiently, even though the object is partially occluded in some input views. To demonstrate the proposed method, two kinds of experiments are presented: reconstruction of human foot in a virtual reality environment with CG multi-camera images, and in real world with eight CCD cameras. In the experiments, the reconstructed shape error with our method is around 2mm in average, while the error is more than 4mm with conventional volume intersection method. key words: anthropometry, deformable model, principal component analysis, multiple cameras, shape reconstruction

PCA Based 3D Shape Reconstruction of Human Foot Using Multiple Viewpoint Cameras
This article describes a multiple camera based method to reconstruct a 3D shape of a human foot. From a feet database, an initial 3D model of the foot represented by a cloud of points is built. In addition, some shape parameters, which characterize any foot at more than 92%, are defined by using Principal Component Analysis. Then, the 3D model is adapted to the foot of interest captured in mult...
متن کاملExploiting Human Bipedal Motion Constraints for 3D Pose Recovery from a Single Uncalibrated Camera
A new method is proposed for recovering 3D human poses in video sequences taken from a single uncalibrated camera. This is achieved by exploiting two important constraints observed from human bipedal motion: coplanarity of body key points during the mid-stance position and the presence of a foot on the ground – i.e. static foot during most activities. Assuming 2D joint locations have been extra...
متن کاملA three-dimensional, anatomically detailed foot model: a foundation for a finite element simulation and means of quantifying foot-bone position.
We generated an anatomically detailed, three-dimensional (3-D) reconstruction of a human foot from 286 computerized topographic (CT) images. For each bone, 2-D cross-sectional data were obtained and aligned to form a stacked image model. We calculated the inertial matrix of each bone from the stacked image model and used it to determine the principal axes. Relative angles between the principal ...
متن کامل3d Cross-sectional Shape Measurement of the Foot While Walking
PRINCIPLE Most of the existing 3D shape measurement systems use laser scanning[2], and requires a time (several seconds, typically) for measurement. The principle of laser scanning measurement is triangulation between camera and laser projector. In the field of computer vision, 3D shape of the target object is reconstructed from multiple images using triangulation between multiple cameras (ster...
متن کاملA method to obtain 3D foot shape deformation during the gait cycle
Developed anthropometric measurement systems for the foot are static. However, important changes occur in the 3D shape of the foot during walking. This study deals with computer vision techniques to obtain the 3D foot shape at different step moments during the gait cycle. The foot shape evolution is estimated by comparing the 3D reconstruction of the foot surface at different gait steps. This m...
